I love Disney movies and have created several boards that are based on Disney stories (mostly about the princesses). I’m sharing these themed wedding boards with you in a series. Check back each week for another themed board.
Please note that these “Themed Weddings” are not intended to be a Disney princess wedding. If we go too literal this will look like a little girl’s birthday party. The intent is to give you ideas based on the setting, feel, season and/or colors of certain movies. The photos are from Pinterest and lead directly to their pin.
This week we’ll look at inspirational photos for a Princess and the Frog Wedding. This theme incorporates a mixture of woodsy accents and New Orleans flare. The color palette is mostly bold green and purple with soft softer shades to lighten the mood. I hope you enjoy this Disney Princess and the Frog Wedding!
Theme Setting: Outdoors, River Boat, New Orleans
Color Scheme: Vivid purple and green with soft tones as accents
We’ll start off with this beautiful invitation that has the same whimsy characterized in a Disney movie.
Next is a wedding dress that looks like it was once a flower.
I LOVE the jeweled accents along the edges on the petals and bodice!
The jewelry could be as loud as New Orleans at Mardi Gras, but I’ve chosen a subtle earring
that is more in keeping with the movie reference and lets the dress shine the most.
To add some purple to the bride’s attire, check out these gorgeous purple pumps!
I love this simple bun with the flower at the side. It’s such a classic look!
For the bridesmaids, I really like this three toned dress. It’s a classic cut, cool and flirty.
You can also pick a beautiful purple dress to go with an elegant mask.
For an unusual shoe, they can try these green scaled pumps. Aren’t they fun?
We can’t forget to add a colorful bouquet. This is so fun!
If you don’t like the mask, a pretty lace parasol may be just what you want.
This little flower girl is adorable in a white tulle dress with a lot of flowers.
I really like how this grey suit enhances the richness of the purple vest and tie.
I would love to see the suit paired with this quirky boutonniere.
For programs, step outside the box and print the details on a fan.
Look how beautiful this ceremony setting is! Swoons*
The mossy rocks with the candles and the moss covered arch with purple sheers are lovely.
After the ceremony, walk to the reception with a band!
You can add to the moment by having an artist paint the procession.
End the procession at a big steam boat for the reception location.
You can use a metal tub of lily’s to hold place cards.
The table setting can aim for New Orleans drama…
Or keep the woodsy feel on the table.
The menu can be printed on the same paper as the invitations.
In place of a wedding cake, look at these cute mini cakes with the lily-of-the-valley flowers.
In place of a groom’s cake, use personal pies! Aren’t they cute?
Wedding favors can be so much fun and add a lot of personality.
Here are a few options. These cookie cutters are adorable. Add a recipe and it’s perfect.
These hot sauce bottles are another option. What a great way to add a little spice.
The last option I found are these cute and personal cookbooks.
For a fun goodbye, hop a trolley to your honeymoon.
Hope you enjoyed this Princess and the Frog wedding!
