I love Disney movies.I love the stories and how they encompass old fairy-tales in new ways. In true Disney imagination style, I’ve created several boards that are based on Disney stories (mostly about the princesses). And I want to share the themed wedding boards with you.
Please note that these “Themed Weddings” are not intended to be a Disney princess wedding. If we go too literal this will look like a little girl’s birthday party. The intent is to give you ideas based on the setting, feel, season and/or colors of certain movies. The photos are from Pinterest and lead directly to their pin.
I’ll start with Alice in Wonderland. While she’s not technically a princess, an Alice in Wonderland themed wedding is really fun! This theme is meant to have an edgy, steampunk feel while incorporating a traditional garden setting. I did go a little over the top with some of the ideas, but they are meant to come together in a whimsical wonderland theme more than screaming “here’s Alice’s story.” That’s why we have more English hats with tea and less flamingo croquette. Enjoy this Alice in Wonderland wedding!
Theme Setting: Garden venue with fun, edgy and unusual surprises.
Color Scheme: Blue tone for the bride and then a whimsical mixture of colors.
These keys attached to the save-the-dates are a great way to open the door to your Wonderland adventure.
These pocket-watches are great groomsmen gifts to make sure nobody is late.
Brides don’t have to have a white dress, this is a great time to make at least part of your dress your “something blue”.
The shoes can also be fun and funky for this wonderland wedding.
The bride isn’t the only one who can have fun attire. The groom can have a really fun suit.
Don’t forget about the wedding guests. Invite them to wear fun hats as well.
The venue can be tricky, but really rewarding when it pulls everything together. Look for hedgerows and garden venues.
There are so many references that can be used, especially concerning food.
It would be really easy to make a crazy Alice in Wonderland cake, but a degree of subtlety actually makes the theme way more powerful. If the theme is too over-the-top it can turn into a little kid’s birthday party. While this cake is obviously about Alice in Wonderland, the neutral tones help to make it subtle.

Gorgeous ideas for a fantasy themed wedding. Totally love the pocket watch (Alice in wonderland) and the save the date cards attached to the keys are spectacular. Would have loved to see how the matched the invitations….did they have the key as well? Beautiful!
So glad you liked this theme! It’s one of my favorites. I agree that the keys are unique and a fun addition to the theme. I don’t know if the invitations for this wedding also had keys, but I wanted to share this part of the creative design to help spark the imagination for what could come next. For instance, I love the idea of carrying the key idea through to the escort cards.
Do you know where I can get those dave the dates made?
