I love Disney movies and have created several boards that are based on Disney stories (mostly about the princesses). I’m sharing these themed wedding boards with you in a series. Check back each week for another themed board.
Please note that these “Themed Weddings” are not intended to be a Disney princess wedding. If we go too literal this will look like a little girl’s birthday party. The intent is to give you ideas based on the setting, feel, season and/or colors of certain movies. The photos are from Pinterest and lead directly to their pin.
This week I’m focusing on Cinderella. For some reason, a Cinderella wedding just feels like it has to be a princess wedding, very girly-girl and glamorous but also classic.
Theme Setting: Disney World/Land or a large/grand venue.
Color Scheme: Blue and silver with lots of glass and sparkle.
When I think about Cinderella I remember how an elegant invitation started a chain reaction of taking an ordinary girl through an incredible and elegant adventure.
Since the invitation sets the tone, let’s go with something elegant like the following example with a beautiful floral pattern and subtle metallic embellishments.
If you want a Cinderella wedding, a ball gown wedding dress and glass carriage are iconic. You can also add little moments of blue, like on the crinoline under the dress and the carriage cushions.
Don’t forget some dazzling touches like this sparkly choker.
I love this halo ring with the blue gem inside. You can use sapphires, aquamarine, topaz and many other stones.
For earrings, I think it would be so pretty to use the same blue stone either in studs or elegant drops like these.
You can also find elegant and “princess” styled garters that fit your theme.
If you decide to go way over the top, you can make your wedding reception a masquerade. This rhinestone encrusted mask would be the perfect topping for the princess of the wedding.
Everybody remembers the glass slippers. You can go literal or you can play with the idea for something that would fit with the time period.
Top it all off with an elaborate updo like this.
Bridesmaid dresses can be tricky. However, blue is a good choice if you want everyone in the same color or even if they choose their own dresses. It also goes perfectly with your Cinderella theme. Check out the elegant embellishment on this dress.
Don’t forget the flower girl! She can be a little princess for a day and then wear the dress later for other events or as dress up.
I love having all the bridesmaids in blue and using a few blue flowers in the bouquets.
It’s hard to find natural looking blue flowers. I suggest hydrangeas and blue thistle.
And last, but definitely not least, we’ve included a dapper outfit for your Prince Charming!
The ceremony location can be decorated like a grand entrance to a ball.
If you want to get pumpkins in without having them scream “Cinderella Wedding” then choose white pumpkins and line a pathway with them.
Guests can place their cards in this wire carriage.
This table is stunning, elegant and fit for a grand space. While there aren’t any pumpkins, the moments of blue and metallic lace overlays tie everything back into the theme.
I love the romance of these chair covers. It’s very girly, but it adds so much drama to the space.
These beautiful table numbers tie in well with the elegant invitations and theme.
Don’t forget to enjoy a stunning cake. Just look at the gorgeous piping!
Here is a fun wedding favor idea – pumpkin carriage ornaments/bookmark. Remember that while it’s fun to add a few icons, using all of them could feel like a little girl’s birthday party.
Enjoy a the ideas of a Cinderella wedding!
