You may remember Jeana and Kevin from the engagement session we did earlier this spring (click here to see it). I’m please to announce that they are happily married! They said their vows at Grace Bible Church in College Station.
As you can tell by the colors and invitation, they had a peacock theme. There were peacock feathers in the floral decorated lanterns and floral arrangements as well. The bridesmaids all wore varying peacock feather colors. The bride, bridesmaids and flower girls all carried lanterns, decorate with flowers and twinkling with fairy lights.
Not to be outdone, the guys all had fun, peacock colored ties to match the girls.
This was a really sweet wedding party. Everyone pitched in to help, everyone was ready to laugh, and (most importantly) everyone loved the bride and groom and were ready to do whatever it took to make their day special.
Jeana’s inspiration on the lanterns carried over into the ceremony decorations. The stage was bare except for chairs where each of the wedding party couples would sit. Beside each chair group was a hanging lantern to match the ones the bridesmaids carried. The effect was beautiful.
The lighting was very dim to begin with, but when Jeana and her father walked in, the music swelled with lyrics about “seeing the light,” the lights turned up and I got goosebumps up and down my arms.
There was a short reception (the first of two) right after the ceremony where Jeana and Kevin could visit and celebrate with a few people who couldn’t stay longer. The ceiling sparked with strings of Christmas lights, guests munched on cookies and pie, and there was a pathway of balloons ready for people to take outside for the release.
We went with Kevin and Jeana went to downtown Bryan (where we had their engagement session) for their creative images of just the two of them. We loved the lobby of the LaSalle Hotel, which was conveniently decorated in their wedding colors.
Afterward, the couple changed clothes and everyone met for the second reception at the Benjamin Knox Gallery and Wine Depot. This was a more casual affair with pizza, wine, games and a candy bar. So many of the guests ended up going to both receptions so they could catch up with friends and family.
I’ve had so much fun getting to know them over the past few months. It was an honor to be a part of their marriage celebration. Congrats Jeana and Kevin!
