There are so many things to keep up with during the Senior year. Multiple tests, applications, final games and productions, big celebrations with friends, homecoming, formal dances, and the list goes on.
I don’t have the answers for juggling all this, but I can help in one area.
When it comes to photography sessions, moms and soon-to-be-grads all have a similar question:
When do you take your Senior portraits?
While the school may have somebody specific in mind for your yearbook photo, many Seniors want to include photos with a personal touch. These are often used in announcements, end-of-year programs or slide shows, invitations and more.
For this reason, many people have their personal portrait session during the Summer or Fall before they graduate. This allows plenty of time for the photographer to edit the images and for families to decide what they want to order.
It is still okay to have a portrait session in the Spring. Just know that there will be less time to make decisions about printing.
What would you want to print?
This is a great opportunity to have a professional portrait printed for display.
Family members often want a photograph of the recent grad.
Graduation invitations and announcements often include a wallet-sized photo.
Is the whole photo session just for an 8×10 and a wallet-sized image?
No, that’s just the start of what professional photographers and printers can do!
Professional photographers offer two things: quality photos and a special experience to commemorate you.
Professional printers can place images on canvas, metal, ornaments, glass, wood and more.
I hope this answered some of the common questions about Senior Portrait Sessions.
