By now you’ve probably picked up on the fact that I love Disney movies and fairy tales. I also LOVE the fact that Disney is coming out with live action films. With that in mind, I’d like to present something special…my first styled shoot, featuring a Cinderella Inspired Wedding!
The shoot has classic Cinderella story details, French antiques and modern elements and twists so brides can see themselves in the shoot.
This gorgeous bouquet is by Rosetree Floral Design. I love how they combined elegant roses with dusty miller and greenery. It reminds me of the humble and royal elements of the Cinderella story. And this color combination is amazing!
Cinderella had a fairy godmother, and I think she’d be proud of how we dressed up our bride. The chandelier earrings, bracelet and mask are all studded in gems to add some sparkle. The mask is a perfect example of a modern take on an old tradition. We also updated Cinderella’s slippers, but don’t worry. The light will still gleam off them.
It was such an honor to team up with Hip Pixel Photography on this shoot. Together we were able to capture everything and bring the story out of the book. Hip Pixel also did the fun behind-the-scenes video I shared earlier (click here).
The Experience Salon and Boutique did an incredible job on our bride’s hair and makeup. We wanted to keep the braid ideas you see in the new Disney film, but tie it in with the traditional updo. I think the end result was beautiful.
I know the new film has wedding gown with sleeves and flowers (and it was gorgeous), BUT to me Cinderella will always wear a stunning ballgown. That’s why I was so excited when Georgio’s Bridal Salon presented this gorgeous wedding dress. There were so many layers of tulle and the bodice beading was exquisite. Our bride felt and looked like a princess.
The shoot took place in an old warehouse that has been renovated into The Phoenix Ballroom. They have such an amazing space that easily transitions from ceremony to reception.
We placed the ceremony in front of the large fireplace (where Cinderella’s story began) and incorporated a mixture of normal items like bobbins of thread, a clock and candles with more ornate pieces like silver pumpkins and silver candelabras (Action Rental Center).
Our prince was dressed in this dapper tux from Squire’s Formalwear. They bent over backwards to help find the perfect look. I really loved the modern coat tails and striped ascot. They went so well with the grey silk vest and striped trousers. This was an elegant and princely outfit.
Cinderella’s story is unique. Most of the shoot was focused on small inspired moments, but we decided to show how you can incorporate some of the classic story moments in photos. These make wonderful creative shots for a storybook wedding album.
The wedding invitations and programs Prettiest Print Shop designed are so classic and elegant. I love the colors, styling and light feeling. Prettiest Print Shop also created menus, name cards and table numbers to match!
The reception transitions into a more elegant setting with a light, airy atmosphere. The reception table is flanked by authentic, French antique balloon chairs from Papillon Antiques. They add a lot of drama to the space and are perfect thrones for the happy couple.
We wanted to show a few ideas on how to set the table. You could use one or all of these options. The stunning china, flatware and linens were provided by Action Rental Center. The table settings feature silver pumpkin place card holders (a DIY project) and French antique napkin rings (Papillon Antiques).
I even got to pull out the Waterford glasses from my wedding! They were happy to be used outside of a formal holiday.
The pumpkin place card holders had very humble beginnings. With a wave of my wand…er…spray paint can and glue gun, I was able to create this pretty feature. It reminded me of the gold or silver fruit I see in classic French table settings.
Pieces like this cake server from Papillon Antiques are a wonderful opportunity to use a unique wedding gift, borrow something from grandma’s silver drawer or invest in something that can be passed down to future generations. I loved how well it went with Action Rental Center‘s cake stand.
Cinderella’s glass slippers still made an appearance and graced the cake table. We also used these cute bird salt and pepper shakers on the reception table, because…well, because mice just weren’t as cute at dinner (sorry Gus-Gus).
I think Simply Delicious did a fabulous job on this Cinderella-worthy wedding cake. The icing has a subtle brocade-like pattern and each layer is edged in rhinestones. Rosetree Floral Design added flowers between each layer that matched the bridal bouquet and the jaw-dropping centerpieces.
I wanted to show how brides can use décor items they already have or want to use in a new home. The antiques make great “something borrowed” or “something old” items. They are also great in a future home, as are the bird salt and pepper shakers and the balloon chairs.
Hope you enjoyed this Cinderella Wedding Styled Shoot. What did you like most?
