Wedding Planning – Order Photography Prints – Week 45

Congratulations on your engagement! This is a really exciting time in your life. It’s also probably going to be a bit stressful.

During this next year, I want to walk through this process with you. I’ll give you a 12 Month Guide to planning your wedding and explain things along the way. You can start from the beginning here (click). Come back to this blog each week for the next installment.

Week 45 – Order Photography Prints

Today is short and simple. We’re going to look at photography prints.

If you have not done so already, please order prints of your engagement photos and bridal portraits. This will give you time to review them before the wedding and maybe even make some adjustments if something prints wrong.

Think through the reception area (sign in table, gift table, etc.) and figure out where you want photos and what size they should be. You should also purchase frames for them. While choosing frames and images, think about what you will want to display in your home after the wedding.

Some people even order an album of their engagement photos where people can sign in the album and leave notes. This takes a little time to create and then a little extra time to print. However, the end result makes a fabulous coffee-table book that’s fun to look through.

If your images were done by a professional photographer, you should ask them to print the images or request a print release so you can print them on your own. your photographer will have a high-quality, reliable printer they work with. If you print on the images on your own, you’ll risk the quality of the final product. It might be just fine, or it may turn out really bad. I’ve see low-budget (like $25) photo albums turn green as they age. Not with mold, but the colors just shifted and became more green. It’s not pretty.

So weigh your options and your budget. Be picky about your printer and enjoy the images!

Next week we’re going to talk about wedding vows and ceremony readings.
